WASHINGTON, October 9, 2025: U.S. auto safety regulators have opened a formal investigation into nearly 2.9 million Tesla vehicles equipped with the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system following reports of traffic violations and multiple crashes involving the software. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed Thursday that it has launched a preliminary evaluation of the advanced driver assistance system after receiving 58 complaints.
